LOS ANGELES Britney Spears is being investigated for possible child abuse, according to TMZ.

Spears’ lawyer, Dennis Wasser, Kevin Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, and a lawyer from the Los Angeles County Counsel — who is assigned to the dependency court — were all present at a hearing Monday in L.A. County Superior Court.

Britney Spears has suffered another breakdown on the set of her new music video, with production grinding to a halt after she began “sobbing hysterically” during a pole dance routine, according to reports.

The troubled pop star was shooting the video for her new single Give Me More in Los Angeles last Wednesday (25Jul07), but had been holding up filming with her unwillingness to co-operate with the crew while taking hour-long breaks in between production.

Onlookers claim Spears – dressed in a black leather waistcoat, black hot pants and fishnet tights – appeared “disorientated” throughout the shoot, before becoming paranoid when she performed her sexy dance routine.

A source tells British newspaper the News of the World, “Britney was completely uncooperative and left everyone hanging about when she went for an hour’s massage – twice.
