A Superman costume worn by the late Christopher Reeve is expected to fly off the auction block when it goes under the hammer. The iconic red and blue one-piece could fetch up to $15,000 when it is sold in Australia. The leotard portion of the famed outfit was worn by Reeve in the 1983 movie ‘Superman III’, while the red trunks and yellow belt were worn by the superhero character in 1978’s ‘Superman the Movie.’ The outfit is being sold by an anonymous collector and does not include boots or a cape. It has reinforced slits in the side of the tunic where wires were rigged up for the flying scenes, and the fabric is especially designed to be hard-wearing and tough, said Giles Moon of Bonhams and Goodman.
